All 1A Local Brackets…

For Region 1, and District 5 for Region 2 (might try to get districts 6-8 done yet today), are up on the website now. Free and clear to print and research. We are the only site that has PDFs available for all districts, without mass backtracking into and out of Trackwrestling. Ain’t nobody got time for that…except Matman…

I covered wrestling for 15 years up north and "retired" in 2011. But as I thought I had in 1992, I couldn't stay away. Started Northeast Florida Matmen in 2013, Northwest Florida Matmen in 2015. New initiative this year is to create a space on my sites where ALL Florida results can be stored, searched, reviewed and used by my readers, with NO COST TO THEM.

    Shannon,

Do you know how brackets are determined for regionals? Is it based on win loss % on top of how individual did at Districts?

There is a schematic. Not sure if all classes use the same schematic, but it’s essentially a situation where everyone slots into the schematic. The (semi-)sad part is that Florida doesn’t publish said schematic, even after all district competitions are held. In Illinois, the sectional schematic (that state’s equivalent of regions) is posted either late Saturday night or Sunday and then everybody goes into draw-up-brackets mode around the state. I suppose if I had any extra time, I could work through it. I don’t know if it’s meant to be kept secret but it seems like if people seem to know where they’re going to go and who they’re going to face (i.e., you knew or had a strong suspicion you would probably get Samec in your semi), that would make it susceptible to some, for lack of a better word, manipulation of competitive outcomes.

Long time readers, does FHSAA use the same schematic every year? I would certainly hope to think not.
