So It All Comes Down To This

Time for the vision quest to come to an end for some. Time for others to find themselves. Time for an old man to maybe make this little box he created be something oh so very much more.

We wrote 16,000 words or so on the three state tournaments over the past three days. In the end, they mean little more than that they are 16,000 reasons why I care about this sport so very much.

We’ll have some Matmen Don’t Know posts, if there’s time, tomorrow night, and some stories too, here and in the Times-Union. Then we’ll drive out Saturday. And then after that…well, your season, or your career, will come to an end.

I’m here to tell you that I’m proof it doesn’t have to. Five years ago, I retired from this sport. I was back two years later. And I’ve never been in it so deep as I’ve been in it here. That can be you, too.

But enough about that.

We wrote 16,000 words this week about you.

Only six matter.

Leave it all on the mat.

I covered wrestling for 15 years up north and "retired" in 2011. But as I thought I had in 1992, I couldn't stay away. Started Northeast Florida Matmen in 2013, Northwest Florida Matmen in 2015. New initiative this year is to create a space on my sites where ALL Florida results can be stored, searched, reviewed and used by my readers, with NO COST TO THEM.
