42 In House: Eastside Checks In

We have at least most of Eastside’s 2016-17 schedule — first-year coach John Blakey is still navigating the waters of putting together his own dates (I know many coaches in Illinois are quite glad they don’t have to do this) and so we’ll probably see some updates on the Rams before the season begins.

As far as new events go, Eastside will open with a new one on Saturday, December 3, when the Rams will head over crosstown to the Gainesville Boys & Girls Club for the Category V Duals, hosted by intercity rivals Gainesville High. Eastside’s other new event on its schedule is set for the first Saturday in February, when the Rams will compete in the Crystal River Duals.

I have no events to which Eastside is returning in 2016-17. At least, not yet.

The Rams will be at Interlachen, along with Dunnellon, for an in-school double dual on December 14, and they’ll be part of the Cities triangular at Gainesville on January 21. As of right now, those are the only midweek or smaller-dual events on the Eastside calendar for now, but they are trying to put together a home event for just before Cities, and, as mentioned above, they’ll probably have some additions, so this post might be updated before too long.

We already have our 43rd schedule in hand, so we’ll be posting about that in just a short while…

I covered wrestling for 15 years up north and "retired" in 2011. But as I thought I had in 1992, I couldn't stay away. Started Northeast Florida Matmen in 2013, Northwest Florida Matmen in 2015. New initiative this year is to create a space on my sites where ALL Florida results can be stored, searched, reviewed and used by my readers, with NO COST TO THEM.
