43 Is In: Time For Fernandina Beach

Just three to go. Heard from all three coaches, although I’m not sure how soon I’ll see a schedule from any of them. We did receive Fernandina Beach’s list, subject to possibly adding one event in the near future (I gave Coach Emanuel contact info for it only just today).

The Pirates will have two events at Yulee that are new to the FBHS schedule this season — the one-day duals event on December 17 and the one-day Battle on the Border event (I think it’s an IBT) on January 7. Both of those have put together some nice fields. Fernandina Beach will also be part of the Westside Duals this year, on February 4. There may be one more event which the Pirates have not been part of in the past, that they may be joining, in January. More to follow on that.

As for returning events, FBHS will open its season in traditional fashion, competing in the North Florida Duals at Bishop Snyder on December 3, the first Saturday of the competitive season. They’ll also return to Fletcher’s Neptune Duals on December 10, and to the Raines 5 Star Invitational on January 27-28.

As for midweek duals, Fernandina Beach will be at the Raines quad on December 7th with Stanton, FSDB and the host Vikings, and (although it was not on the list submitted today) they should be at Nassau County Championships on Tuesday, December 20.

So that’s 43. Which of our remaining three will be 44??

I covered wrestling for 15 years up north and "retired" in 2011. But as I thought I had in 1992, I couldn't stay away. Started Northeast Florida Matmen in 2013, Northwest Florida Matmen in 2015. New initiative this year is to create a space on my sites where ALL Florida results can be stored, searched, reviewed and used by my readers, with NO COST TO THEM.
