GAFFNEY, SC — Wrestling with a ranking proved tricky business for host Limestone, ranked 25th in Division II, in its duals season opener Thursday night.

The Saints fell, 25-13, to visiting Cumberland, with Limestone 133-pound freshman starter Xaiver Sampsel (Fleming Island ’16) losing by fall in the second period (4:18) to Cumberland’s Sammy Rosario. Other than Ritchie Gulliaume, a Miami native, it was a overall tough night for the Limestone Floridians in the lineup, as Kurtis Aimable (Freedom) and Raekwon Reggler (Monsignor Pace) also took losses.

I covered wrestling for 15 years up north and "retired" in 2011. But as I thought I had in 1992, I couldn't stay away. Started Northeast Florida Matmen in 2013, Northwest Florida Matmen in 2015. New initiative this year is to create a space on my sites where ALL Florida results can be stored, searched, reviewed and used by my readers, with NO COST TO THEM.
