PANAMA CITY — For the past few seasons, North Bay Haven has made appearances at Terry Parker’s two-day duals tournaments.
This year, the Braves got the opportunity to return the favor.
Terry Parker finished 5-4 at the North Bay Haven Bash, held at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City this past weekend.
Competing in one of three six-team pools on Friday, the Braves were 3-2, with early wins over Rutherford (36-21), Marianna (36-17), Rocky Bayou Christian (45-6) and losses to Choctawhatchee (45-29) and eventual tournament champion Pace (68-12).
On Saturday, the Braves — by virtue of their third-place pool finish — were slotted into the championship bracket, where they lost in the quarters to tournament runnerup Gulf Breeze, 57-12. Parker would rally with wins over Bay (46-24) and Bozeman (37-36 in criteria) before falling to Chiles, 45-12.
The 160-pound weight class was a strength for the Braves all weekend, as D’Angelo Johnson and Jahbaree Kirkpatrick combined to go 9-0, with eight pins. Johnson had a 5-0 tournament, while Kirkpatrick was 4-0.
Landon Dains (170) was 8-1 for Terry Parker, with three pins, while Boakai Kanneh (182) was 7-1 with three pins and a technical fall.
Terry Parker will host the 2A-District 3 meet on Saturday.
