Never Forget This Wisdom

This season has been rather Louden Swain-like for me. I tried to face my equivalent of Brian Shute by taking on a second (or, as some might say, a third) wrestling gig. I have pushed my physical health to some limits I did not intend or expect. I’ve been really sick for two weeks. If you’re at Clay this weekend and you hear a barking seal, pay it no mind. It’s either me coughing or me trying to talk. I have truly embraced the #NoSleepTilKissimmee lifestyle, and it has had a cost.

So I say to you, with all the respect and admiration I have for what you do:

Leave it on the mats. Walk off the mat this weekend knowing there was nothing left of the gift to give. If your conditioning is right, your preparation is right, and your technique is decent, you will win matches. Perhaps enough matches to go on to #TheShow.

Vision quest, man. Time to find out the answers. What if you don’t know the questions?

You don’t have to.

I covered wrestling for 15 years up north and "retired" in 2011. But as I thought I had in 1992, I couldn't stay away. Started Northeast Florida Matmen in 2013, Northwest Florida Matmen in 2015. New initiative this year is to create a space on my sites where ALL Florida results can be stored, searched, reviewed and used by my readers, with NO COST TO THEM.
