New Program!

Rich Marshall, who’s definitely in a position to know, announced on his Facebook page today that Keystone Heights HS will be offering wrestling as a varsity sport in the 2017-18 school year.

Should you not happen to know — and I didn’t know until the first year of the website — Keystone Heights is a Clay County school, but it is nearly due southeast of Bradford HS, in neighboring Bradford County. I would guess it will be in Class 1A, but not sure for now where it will be classified as of yet.

After losing programs over the past couple of seasons, this is great news! I’ll post more when I have more. Keystone Heights HS has been home to many events that Beat The Streets — Northeast Florida has put on, so there are kids out there with some background. I hope you’ll join me in efforts to support this fledgling program.

I covered wrestling for 15 years up north and "retired" in 2011. But as I thought I had in 1992, I couldn't stay away. Started Northeast Florida Matmen in 2013, Northwest Florida Matmen in 2015. New initiative this year is to create a space on my sites where ALL Florida results can be stored, searched, reviewed and used by my readers, with NO COST TO THEM.
