#Schedules19-20: Bishop Kenny Is 28TH IN

We are up to our 28th schedule thus far.

It came in via email from Bishop Kenny, with a new head coach this year (though not new to the Crusader program). This puts us at the one-third complete mark, which is not too bad for what is still mid-September-ish on the calendar.

The Crusaders begin the season on what so far is Opening Night for the North, hosting Episcopal for a midweek dual on December 4. Kenny will travel to Ridgeview for the second annual two-day Panther Prowl on the 6th and 7th (this was a duals tournament last year). The Crusaders then will make their annual jaunt to Tallahassee for Chiles & Lincoln’s Capital City Classic, a two-day IBT, on the 13th and 14th. December will come to a close with another duals tournament, also two days, this time at the Yulee Duals on the 20th and 21st. The Crusaders will then break for the holidays.

In January, Bishop Kenny will start with a short hop (Matmen makes this hop nearly daily) on Atlantic Blvd to Episcopal for the Eagles’ one-day IBT, the Rob Bierbaum Invitational, on the 4th. Next up will most likely be 1A-District 3 team duals sometime midweek before the 11th (which is what the Crusaders listed on their schedule), but that hasn’t come to a vote yet. District duals could then potentially lead to Region 1 duals on the 16th and state duals on the 25th and 26th. Next up on the regular-season calendar will be another trip to Yulee, this time for the two-day Joe Bees Memorial Battle of the Border on the 10th and 11th. The Crusaders make two more trips to Nassau County during the month, this time for a midweek dual on the 15th against Fernandina Beach and for a midweek quad on the 22nd at Yulee that includes Ed White and Charlton (GA). We have a discrepancy on the next date, as the Crusaders list the 25th, a Saturday, as the night they’ll host Orange Park in a dual (Orange Park had it on the 24th, a Friday). Either way, Bishop Kenny will conclude the month with a home Senior Night dual against Bolles on the 29th.

February competition starts in January for the Crusaders, who will go to the Flagler Rotary, a two-day IBT, on the 31st and February 1st. They’ll wrap up the regular season with a trip to Clay’s two-day Rotary IBT on the 7th and 8th.

So. That’s 28 schedules. We need more. We could use YOUR SCHOOL’S SCHEDULE. Question is…WHO’S NEXT???

I covered wrestling for 15 years up north and "retired" in both 1992 and again in 2011. But I couldn't stay away. Started Northeast Florida Matmen in 2013, Northwest Florida Matmen in 2015. We combined those sites into North Florida Matmen in the summer of 2018. And, we've started South Georgia Matmen in November of 2018. Our work is never paywalled, our content is searchable for all time. We're here because the kids keep lacing 'em up, so we'll keep writing 'em up.
